Introducing Michelle Widjaew

 Michelle Wudjaew

Our robust and effective approach is supported by our assessment and transition director for complex autism, Michelle Widjaew. Michelle oversees the placement of individuals with complex autism, ensuring their stability and success. She is dedicated to enabling the people we care for to achieve their goals and live their life to its full potential.

Throughout her career, Michelle has worked in the social care sector and has extensive experience in supporting people with autism and complex behavioural needs. This includes helping adults to successfully move into the community from hospital settings. Michelle has almost 20 years of management experience and she has been a registered manager for a number of specialist residential services, including a service rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Michelle is a qualified social worker and has achieved a Master of Education (Med) in Autism. She is also currently working towards her Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Level 5 qualification. She is passionate about offering the highest standards of person-centred support and is proud of the positive outcomes achieved at Priory Adult Care.

Successful transitions at Priory Adult Care

As assessment and transition director for complex autism, Michelle ensures that the management teams at each of our specialist residential services have all they need to support people with complex needs effectively. She works with them to carefully plan each person’s transition into their new home and to ensure that this is as smooth and comfortable as possible for them. Michelle also trains and develops staff so that they have all the required knowledge of each person and how best to support them.

Michelle’s work with each team is ongoing in order to ensure that each individual in our care receives the specialist support they need to achieve their goals and lead the life they choose. In her role, she draws upon the experience and expertise within Priory Adult Care in areas such as PBS. We are proud that our thorough and methodical approach results in placement stability and success.
