The Birches in Chesterfield has been rated as 'good' for the quality of care it provides, by the independent health and social care regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
In its report, which follows a recent inspection, the CQC praised the home for: its staff "who are knowledgeable about people's needs", its "person-centred care plans" and supporting people "to maintain contact with their families and friends."
The CQC were pleased with the high level of staff expertise. They saw "trained and experienced" staff supporting residents "in a calm and caring manner".
The home's residents have "person-centred" care plans and their views and preferences are always taken into account: one person indicated they wanted support to go on holiday, and this was provided.
The Birches is located in Chesterfield, in Derbyshire, and provides support to people aged 18 and above who require mental health support. It is designed to assist people's gradual integration and rehabilitation back into the community.
