Independent inspectors praised 'Supporting You in the South West' for the support it offers to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions.
In its latest report, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) praised the service for "being caring", "supporting people to maintain their independence", and having staff who understand an individual's personal needs. The report covers the services provided by 'Supporting You in the South West' in and around Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon.
The CQC said: "People received care that was responsive to their needs and personalised to their wishes and preferences. Each person had a care plan that was personal to them." A relative of one of those who is helped by the service said: "They definitely support them with their independence".
Staff were praised highly by the CQC, those receiving help, and their relatives. One person who is helped by the service said: "The staff are really good." A relative said "staff are kind", and another said: "The staff know him/her as well as we do." A health professional described staff as "good, relaxed and appropriate".
Welcoming the CQC's report, service manager Jemma Griffiths said: "We are delighted with this outcome. We offer a caring and compassionate service to all of those who rely on us for support."
Sarah Hughes, CEO of Craegmoor, said: "The team is highly regarded by the people it supports, so it has come as no surprise that the service has received such an excellent report. Everyone at the service will continue to work hard to do the best they can for the people they work with."
