A local care service based in Cambridgeshire, Supporting You in East Anglia, has been rated 'good' across the board following its recent inspection.
In its latest report, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) praised the SYI East Anglia service for its "kind and caring staff", treating people as "unique individuals" and supporting people to take up their personal interests and hobbies.
The CQC found that "people were being looked after by kind and caring staff who respected people's rights." A professional from another organisation told inspectors that "there was a warm and welcoming atmosphere".
The inspectors said that "people's right to independence was promoted and maintained with a range of practices" and they were "treated as unique individuals and this was supported by people's detailed life histories held within their care plans."
The service ensures that the people they support have the opportunity to follow their own personal interests and to take part in activities they enjoy, including dining out, bowling, fishing and taking breaks away.
Supporting You in East Anglia provides supported living services to people across the region. It helps people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions who require support and assistance to live as independently as possible.
Laura Collard, Registered Locality Manager, said: "I am thrilled with this report. We pride ourselves on offering support that enhances independence, so I am particularly pleased that the CQC acknowledges that we cater to people's personal needs well."
