Amanda Lyndon, CQC Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region, said:
“Our inspection team was very impressed by the level of support offered to people using this service.
“Without exception, relatives and staff spoke positively about the service. Relatives told us their family member received excellent care which had a positive impact on their well-being and enhanced their lives.
“Staff developed strong working relationship with people, which enhanced the level of trust people placed in the staff team.
“They took the time to speak with people and their relatives to gain a greater understanding of their life histories and interests. This enabled them to support people to participate in activities or events that interested them.
“We saw one person had been supported to visit friends and another person had been supported to use a foot spa for the first time to aid relaxation.
“The staff team were in regular contact with people's relatives and involved them in decision making and discussions about people's support.
“Without exception the relatives we spoke with felt their views and opinions were listened to and valued by the staff team.
“This is why we have rated Collinson Court as Outstanding.”
