Priory Adult Care is marking World Autism Day with two unique and totally different perspectives of the condition.
Sue Hatton, autism advisor at Priory Adult Care, will speak about her amazing experiences delivering autism training in rural Ghana. Sue has visited Ghana three times to work in a unique community called Hand in Hand which cares for abandoned children and adults with autism. Last year Priory Adult Care supported her to deliver a range of training sessions to the local care givers.
Gavin lives at a Priory Adult Care specialist service in Somerset. He has Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) and regularly attends a discussion group for individuals with AS and autism, which helps them understand themselves better. Gavin will talk to the guests about living with AS and how he is able to cope more easily with his anxieties thanks to the support of the group.
