A care home in Southport, Dinorwic Road, has been rated “good” overall and in every care category by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the health and social care watchdog.
Relatives’ conversations with inspectors are quoted in the report. One relative said, “The staff are wonderful, they provide brilliant care”. Another relative said, “The staff are wonderful, we all have good relationships with staff, they offer brilliant care and it’s of a good standard.”
Inspectors referred to the range of activities residents participate in. Current residents choose to go to church, bowling and shopping. Staff are planning to take residents on a holiday to Wales during the summer months, after they requested it at a Your Voice meeting.
The report explains how residents help to decide how the home is decorated and have their bedrooms personalised to their individual tastes.
Dinorwic Road is managed by Priory Adult Care, a new division within the Priory Group. It brings together two Priory adult care divisions, Craegmoor and Amore Care. The home supports people with learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge. It is located in Southport, Merseyside.
Bogdan Iordache, Registered Manager at Dinorwic Road, said: “I am delighted with this report. It is such a warm feeling to read that both inspectors and the relatives of our relatives value the support we offer.”
