Priory Adult Care (formerly Amore Care), part of the Priory Group of Companies, is creating 30 new jobs as one of its nursing homes in Northern Ireland develops to reach full capacity.

Carlingford Lodge, at Warrenpoint, is a purpose-built home providing a supportive and friendly environment for older people who require general or dementia nursing care  It currently is caring for 49 residents with room for a further 26.

Recently appointed manager Karen McElherron said: “The care and wellbeing of our residents is of paramount importance to Carlingford Lodge and we are looking to recruit top quality staff. 

“We already have taken on five and are confident of filling the further 25 available vacancies. Once our staffing is up to full complement of 85, we will be in a position to offer accommodation to more residents.”

Carlingford Lodge boasts single, en-suite accommodation finished to the highest standard. There also is a choice of lounges and dining areas and a secure, enclosed landscaped garden.

Karen, who has 14 years’ experience in care and nursing home management, added: “Staff are at the heart of the quality and atmosphere within the home and developing and investing in employees is core to the further growth of the high standard of care services provided at Carlingford Lodge.”  

Karen is supported by Deputy Manager Sara Megaw, who has seven years’ experience in care homes.

Since 2009, Priory Adult Care (formerly Amore Care) has opened seven care homes across Northern Ireland.
