Priory Adult Care's (formerly Amore Care) Addison Court care home in Accrington is celebrating after housekeeper Lee-Anne Aldren won a prestigious national award.

Lee-Ann was named ‘Housekeeper of the Year’ at the National Care Awards.

Winners of the Care Awards 2013 were presented with their trophies by Phil Tufnell with the assistance of Olivia Godfrey at the high profile Gala Night held on Friday 29th November at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel in London, attended by 800 guests.

The judges said: "We have chosen her because Lee-Anne’s passion for her role shone through. She clearly understood the importance of everyone feeling special. Lee-Ann demonstrated the importance of housekeeping in delivering a really high standard of person centred care."

The home also recently received two nominations in the Great North West Care Awards. The whole team was runner up in the Care Team category and Activity Coordinator Lesley Quigley triumphed in the Care Home Activity Organiser Award. The judges declared that ‘Lesley has an enthusiastic personality and an abundance of original activity ideas based on spontaneity and person centred care. An outstanding candidate who deserves this award!’

Addison Court home manager Anne-Marie Potter said: “We are all absolutely thrilled that Lee-Anne received this much deserved accolade.

“She typifies the quality of care that we aspire to at Addison Court. Amore Care has made a considerable investment in the home’s environment and the awards that Lee-Anne, Lesley and the whole team have recently received are testament that the care is as fantastic as the home itself.”
