Since 2003, Michelle has been in management roles as a Registered Manager for both adult and children’s specialist residential services. In 2016, she joined Priory Adult Care as a Dual Site Registered Manager, one of which is an ‘Outstanding’ Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated service. Michelle’s role also included supporting the local Learning Disability and Autism Programme Agenda (previously known as Transforming Care) teams to transition long stay residents into community placements. Michelle is also a qualified Social Worker currently undertaking a Master of Education (MEd) in Autism at the University of Birmingham.
Michelle is very passionate about leading teams and offering outstanding person-centred support within the least restrictive environments, alongside continually improving quality of life and independence for people that we support within our specialist residential services.
Within the new role as Assessment and Transition Director for Complex Autism, Michelle is supporting our service management teams in the thorough information gathering during the referral and assessment process, implementation of transition plans to ensure readiness of sites, and working collaboratively with other support mechanisms and expertise within Priory Adult Care. This includes positive behaviour support (PBS) resources and service development teams. Michelle’s role is to also develop the staff teams with the skills required to support individual complex placements and the sustainability of the placements within our specialist residential services.
