A care home in Hull, Riverbank, has been rated 'good' overall and in all categories by the health and social care watchdog, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). In the report, the CQC said, "the staff approach was friendly, kind and caring".
A resident said to inspectors, "Its great living here; the staff are very approachable." Residents were extremely positive about the staff who support them, other remarks they made to inspectors included: "The staff are caring", "staff are very approachable" and "I have really good relationships with the managers and nurses".
A relative of a resident said, "the team are always available" and that staff have given residents "a more positive attitude to life". Another relative described staff as being "really lovely, supportive, kind and caring".
Residents are encouraged to get involved with community life. Some are currently completing courses at local colleges, with activities including going to the cinema, bowling and swimming.
Riverbank is managed by Priory Adult Care, a new division within Priory Group, formed in April from bringing together two Priory adult care divisions, Craegmoor and Amore Care. Riverbank supports adults with severe and enduring mental health needs. It is located in Hull, North Humberside.
Ken Brown, Registered Manager, said: "My team do a great job here. I am delighted to read that the CQC appreciates the work we are doing here and the outcomes we achieve. We will continue to do everything we can for our residents."
