Fair View Lodge care home in Knowles Hill Road, Newton Abbott, has been praised by independent inspectors for the quality of care it offers to adults with autism.
In its latest report, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which regulates health and care services, praised Fair View Lodge for “maximising people’s potential”, its “enthusiastic” staff and offering personalised care.
The commission said that “staff were positive about the people they were supporting and told us they enjoyed working with people at the home”.
The report praises the level of support on offer, and the way the home is managed to maximise residents’ independence.
The quality of the home’s management was highlighted, with inspectors saying that those who monitored the home’s standards did so in a careful, highly considered way.
Welcoming the CQC’s report, service manager Patrick Van Rensburg said: “It is pleasing that the CQC recognises the excellent work that we undertake on a day-to-day basis. We will continue the good work, but look to improve even further.”
