Residents at our residential homes have been enjoying the festivities this December

With Christmas just around the corner, our residential homes across the UK are starting to look very festive. Our support teams are taking the opportunity to bring some light and joy to the residents that we support by decorating the homes and gardens, as well as introducing a range of fun Christmas activities.

For some of the people we support, Christmas can be a difficult and unsettling time. At Priory Adult Care, we believe that everyone deserves to enjoy the festive season, within an environment that is safe, nurturing and homely.

Here is a round-up of just some of the events our team have been working hard to involve residents in this Christmas.

Residents bake mince pies at Cleveland House

The activities coordinator and support team at Cleveland House got the residents hands-on with a baking session, yielding a bounty of mince pies for everyone at the home to enjoy.

Celebrating Elf Day at Blair House

The team at Blair House kicked off the festive period with Christmassy costumes, in time for Elf Day. The care team at the home donned their elf outfits for the day, and even got some of the residents involved with some elf hats and other accessories.

Festive decorating at The Vines

The Vines have had their home transformed with festive décor in time for Christmas. The windows at the service are suitably adorned in merry drawings, thanks to a local artist.

“Needless to say the residents love them,” said home manager Abbi Philpott, about the windows.

Secret Santa for charity at Cooper House

The team at Cooper House decided to donate gifts to charity this Christmas, as part of an initiative to bring presents to the homes of children.

Christmas Carolling at the White House

White House in London hosted their own Carol service, where everyone who lives at the home lead with songs of their choice. The service was attended by members of the Learning Disability community team and their local authority, who all joined in with the sing-song.

Rocking around the Christmas tree at Bromyard Road

Residents at Bromyard Road were delighted to dress the Christmas tree at their home, and sit down with a tub of Quality Street and mince pies on a chilly December morning. One of the residents at the service, who has been a volunteer at British Red Cross for the past 12 years, ventured out for a Christmas meal out, where they joined their fellow volunteers to celebrate their achievements for the year.
