A care home for adults with learning disabilities has been praised by care home inspectors for the respectful and dignified way it looks after residents.
The Care Quality Commission said the home was a safe, caring and supportive environment where staff supported the residents, and treated them with dignity and respect.
Inspectors said that ‘people’s care needs had been assessed and their emotional, health and social care needs were considered’ and residents ‘liked the staff who supported them and the positive relationships they had formed’.
In an interview with one of the residents, an inspector was told: ‘I feel very safe living here’ and ‘the staff are marvellous, all of them’.
Residents of the home are actively encouraged to pursue their interests and take part in arts and crafts, gardening and baking. They also have the opportunity to attend college, with access to various courses.
