The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors were full of praise for an Aylestone care home, following a recent inspection.
Inspectors praised Lansdowne Road for being “compassionate”, “friendly” and having highly competent staff who have a “good relationship” with residents.
The care home was rated ‘good’ overall and in all care categories. These are “Is the service safe?”, “responsive”, “effective”, “caring” and “well-led”.
In the report, inspectors said: “People and their relatives we spoke with were positive about the relationships between them and the staff group.”
They went on to say, “We saw staff interactions with people throughout the inspection which confirmed that staff were caring and helpful and people were treated respectfully… We observed staff greeted people in a friendly way when entering public areas and care staff had a good relationship with people and engaged them in an empathic way.”
Relatives told inspectors that “family members were treated compassionately. One of them said, ‘If I was giving the home a rating it would be A plus’”.
The CQC said, “People were encouraged to take part in activities that they enjoyed and were meaningful to them… We saw where some people went clothes shopping and another person went swimming while we were inspecting the home.”
Grace Cropper, Registered Manager at Lansdowne Road, said: “I am particularly pleased with the warm feedback received from residents and their family members. Our home is successful because of the committed staff team we have. We do everything we can for our residents and will continue to do so.”
Gary Bradley, Operations Director at Priory Adult Care: “This report makes a really good read. It reflects the magnificent work that is done at Lansdowne Road. I would like to thank Grace, Kerry and their team for going out of their way to help our residents and using their friendly character to build excellent relationships with them.”
