Priory Adult Care's (formerly Amore Care) Jubilee Gardens care home in Castle Bromwich is celebrating after one of its team won a prestigious award.
Mary Reid, who works at the home was named ‘Best Dementia Carer’ in the Great West Midlands Care Awards, part of the Great British Care Awards which are a series of regional events throughout England and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector.
The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Priory Adult Care prides itself on its innovative Dementia Strategy. The Dementia Strategy, which has been created in consultation with care home employees and stakeholders, sets out an agenda to create a better care environment, social care engagement for residents, family and community involvement and continuous learning experience for the teams who deliver care.
The Strategy has a number of core objectives designed to ensure that every resident has a positive living experience.
It meets the objectives of The Prime Minister’s Dementia Challenge in raising awareness of, and responding to, the needs of people with dementia.
Jubilee Gardens is a purpose built care home providing 24-hour care and support for older people who need nursing care and/or support for mental health problems. There is also an onsite day centre for 24 people.
Aimee Fields, manager of Jubilee Gardens, said: “Mary is a fantastic, empathetic and caring person who thoroughly deserves this recognition.
