A care home in Southgate, Linden Lodge, has been rated ‘good’ overall and in every care category by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the health and social care watchdog.

In the report, following a recent inspection, CQC inspectors said they observed that residents had “established positive and caring relationships with the staff that supported them”. Residents talked very positively about staff to inspectors: they described them as being “polite”, “sweet in nature” and “like my family”. Their relatives were equally as impressed with one person saying the “staff seem very interested and very caring”.

Inspectors wrote about the home’s leadership. They said, “People, relatives and staff were complimentary of the service and the way in which it was managed.” Residents and their family members said things about the site manager such as, “I like her and feel confident to raise any concerns”, “she is a very nice person and a very efficient manager” and “I feel able to contact the manager and confident she is always approachable”.

The report mentions how residents take part in activities of their choice, including going to the cinema, attending exhibitions and doing gardening.

Inspectors reference the fact that residents take part in Your Voice meetings, where they can request any ideas they have for trips or changes they would like to make to the home.

Linden Lodge is managed by Priory Adult Care, a new division within the Priory Group. It brings together two Priory adult care divisions, Craegmoor and Amore Care. The home supports people with mental health and behaviours that challenge. The home is located in Southgate, north London.

Lynne Thompson, Home Manager, said: “I am delighted with this report. It shows all the hard work everyone has done to make the home the great success story it has become. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure that residents get the most from their time with us.”

James Willis, CEO of Priory Adult Care, said: “I really enjoyed reading this report, particularly the comments from staff and relatives about how highly they regard the staff who support them. I thank the team at Linden Lodge for all the contributions”.
