Woodpecker Lodge comprises of 7 bedrooms, all of which all have en-suites facilities, plus communal areas which include a lounge, kitchen, a utility room and a conservatory.
The building is located in the grounds of Weir End House in rural Herefordshire and is set in large grounds with a walled vegetable garden, greenhouses and a woodland area.
Woodpecker Lodge is designed as a transitional service for individuals who are preparing to live in their own homes independently. In line with this, the people living here, along with their staff team, are committed to enabling themselves to be involved in the running of their home and to pursue any goals they may have, with staff support, if required.
At Woodpecker Lodge we are committed to encouraging and supporting individuals to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible - whether this means small, realistic steps to support with planning, preparing and cooking meals or finding employment in the local community.
Everyone living at Woodpecker Lodge benefits from the many activities available within the service and its scenic surroundings and everyone helps to choose and plan the activities they would like to do. Where required, people are supported to access the local community and surrounding areas, giving individuals access to a snooker club, a library, a heritage centre and many restaurants and pubs. There are local supermarkets, weekly markets and monthly farmers markets. There are also good public transport links to the surrounding areas, such as the Forest of Dean.
