The White House

The White House

The White House provides quality support for up to six adults with autism, learning disabilities and those with behaviours which require a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach. Our service is based on respect for individuals, their right to make choices and maintain dignity. We strive to provide the best care and support to meet individual needs.

Our approach to care

At The White House, we promote the concept of independent living, and support individuals as they work towards this. Each person has a person-centred plan which shows how their needs will be met and outcomes achieved. It also outlines their goals and aspirations for the present and future.

The people we support take part in our regular meetings, which are held so people can provide feedback about the support they are receiving. It is also an opportunity for everyone as a group to talk about meal ideas and potential holiday destinations and the general day to day aspects of their home.

Facilities at The White House

The White House offers a warm and homely environment with opportunities for individuals to extend and enhance the quality of their day-to-day living.

Our home has been tastefully decorated throughout and the people we support are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms as they wish. There is a large open lounge and dining area, and kitchen where people regularly prepare snacks and meals. The home also has a utility room, a quiet room and a secluded garden which offers a relaxing retreat outdoors.

Activities at our home

Our own transport is used to visit places of interest, local day services and resource centres.

Our life skills coach organises a range of daily activities both in and out of the home that are planned in conjunction with the wishes of those who use our service. Individuals enjoy dance and music sessions, swimming, horse riding, bowling, trips to the cinema, holidays, boomerang sessions, day trips, and arts and crafts.

Community integration is sought through local 'New Connection' events which are held in local community halls and are open to staff and individuals, their friends and families. Everyone is encouraged to develop their personal care skills, communication and social skills, and enhance their home living skills including shopping, dietary planning, cookery, laundry, gardening and cleaning.

The White House is situated in Feltham with easy access to local shops and amenities. There are transport links nearby such as Feltham rail station, as well as bus services that can be utilised for trips of a shorter distance.
