Westview is based in the heart of Folkestone, a harbour town on the south Kent coast. From our home, individuals can walk a short distance to the town centre, beach and harbour. The train station and bus station are within easy walking distance and the motorway can be reached in a just few minutes by car.
Westview provides an environment that supports service users to reach their full potential in daily living skills, thereby maximising their opportunity for independence. We provide opportunities for service users to make and maintain relationships with both friends and family.
People at Westview have devised a cooking and cleaning schedule and this is followed every day. All individuals manage their own washing with little staff support, although this is provided where necessary. Individuals are fully involved in the upkeep of the garden and growing their own vegetables.
Westview is a large Victorian house with all decor chosen by the people living here. There is a calm and peaceful atmosphere, especially in our well maintained garden. In the summer we hold barbecues, which friends and family are welcome to attend.
We have a mini bus at Westview, although to promote independence, individuals are encouraged to walk or use public transport wherever possible.
All individuals help to prepare all meals and are fully involved in the ordering of food. This enables people to learn important skills required for a more independent future.
