Our approach to care
At The Old Rectory, Brede, all staff receive training in communication to suit the varying needs of each individual. Our staffing ratio is dependent on individual needs and 1:1 support is available where necessary. We provide 24 hour support and there is an on-call system for use in emergency situations.
Everyone is involved in designing their own person-centred plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at The Old Rectory, Brede to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and decide how they would like to go about achieving them.
We empower those living here to take ownership of their person-centred plans and their home. In "Your Voice" meetings, individuals can provide their feedback, and are able to represent the views and voices of others living at The Old Rectory, Brede.
Jane* is settling in well in her new accommodation and I truly believe that this is due to the amazing support that you provided her. Despite the challenges you faced, your staff team responded with care and the determination to support her. You modelled care and compassion which will form a good foundation for her as she negotiates the complexities of adulthood.
My experience of working with you has been nothing but positive. You were responsive, determined and accommodating. It is rare to have such a positive experience of collaborative working and for this I am grateful to you.
