The Lodge has 10 rooms, eight with en-suite facilities and two separate bungalows in the grounds of the main house, where people are supported to live more independently. Communal areas include a relaxation room, two lounges, a kitchen, a dining room and a laundry room. There are three communal bathrooms and a medium-sized garden which is used for playing outdoor sports, games and picnics.
Staff members encourage and support people to cook their own meals, increasing levels of independence and improving daily skills.
Developing the skills of the people we support
Person Centred Plans are used by individuals at The Lodge in order to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means enrolling in college courses such as cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.
Individuals staying at The Lodge also take a lot of pleasure helping out with everyday tasks such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning. All tasks are dependent upon an individual's ability, but we find that the people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.
The Lodge has good access to bus and train services. The Cribbs Causeway shopping centre is just a short drive away. There are some major tourist attractions surrounding the service, including the beautiful coastal shores. Local entertainment available includes cinemas, bowling alleys and clubs.
