The Cherries

The Cherries is a residential care home providing personal care for up to six people who may have learning disabilities, epilepsy, autism, those who present with behaviours that may challenge and other complex needs, including continence support. Residents at the home have limited communication and speech, each requiring full daily 1:1 care provisions.

Staff provide support in all aspects of care, often over long periods of time, to build confidence and for some of our residents, independence. This is achieved whilst responding to positive behaviour strategies in order to enable people to achieve personal milestone goals that profoundly improve their health, lifestyle and social skills.

Our approach to support

The Cherries is staffed 24 hours a day. All individuals are involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, which are created with staff support. The plans are tailored to enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at The Cherries to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and decide how they would like to go about achieving them.

The Cherries promotes Priory Adult Care’s communication strategy "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service.
