Shaftesbury Mews (formerly part of Craegmoor) provides nursing care and a range of programmes to support adults with autism, learning disabilities and nursing needs. Our aim is to develop independence and life skills.
The service is located in the Jordanstown area of Greater Belfast, on the historic site of the former Lord Shaftesbury’s home. Belfast City Centre is only six miles away with local shops, parks and a beach within walking distance of the service. Major bus and rail routes into Belfast City are also only a short distance from the home.
This specifically designed service has a homely and comfortable environment which has been created to enable person-centred care and support to assist people who cannot live in their own homes to maintain as much independence as possible. Residents will also have access to daily activities including arts, music, sensory and outdoor activities.
Shaftesbury Mews is run by an experienced manager, who is supported by a team of trained nurses and support workers. The services we provide include:
- A low stimulus, homely and relaxed environment
- Spacious lounge areas, beautiful grounds and access to the wider community
- Innovative person-centred support programmes and personal activity planners
- Intensive interactive communication and environment
“I really like my bungalow and living with other people. I enjoy sitting in the garden and keeping it tidy. I feel so much more independent now.”
