At Sapphire House (formerly part of Craegmoor), we provide 24/7 specialist residential support for people with autism, learning disabilities, communication difficulties and complex needs.
We recognise the importance of choice and encouraging people we support to be as independent as possible and are committed to providing support to empower and encourage individuals to develop skills they need to live as independently as possible, working towards a level of independence which is consummate with their skills, confidence and aspirations.
Our approach to support
Our team of staff possess the necessary skills, knowledge and attributes to provide a high standard of service for people with autism. We work closely with local multidisciplinary teams, speech and language therapists, sensory therapists and mental health teams, including psychology support.
Everyone living at Sapphire House is assigned a key worker who looks after each individual’s support plan. Key workers encourage and support individuals to attain their personal goals, which could include activities such as volunteering and paid employment. Those living at Sapphire House are encouraged to raise issues and to discuss ideas at monthly ‘Your Voice’ meetings. At these meetings, individuals can influence how Sapphire House operates on a day-to-day basis. Topics of discussion can include activity planning, menus and refurbishment plans. Individuals who do not wish to take part in these meetings are represented in different ways, to ensure that everybody’s voice is heard.
“I like living at Sapphire House as I can see my friends and I am developing my skills.”
