Laburnum House

Laburnum House provides 24 hour support for six adults with all learning disabilities and accompanying needs such as epilepsy and Prader-Willi syndrome.

We offer a safe and homely environment, where all individuals can make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at Laburnum House to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about meeting them.

Our services

• A ground floor room and wet room available to accommodate an individual with mobility needs
• Spacious accommodation comprising of 2 large communal rooms, a dining area, bathroom and ground floor wet room
• A large multi-purpose garden with paved seating area to support recreational and horticultural activities
• Rated ‘Good’ in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) during their latest inspection
• Innovative person-centred service programmes working in conjunction with the individual’s circles of support, including family members and practitioners 
• Access to the community in groups or 1:1 for activities, college and social development, as well as employment opportunities
• Progression through a care pathway that fulfils each individual’s maximum potential to live more independently, including access to respite and community outreach
• A relationship with the wider multidisciplinary team, including specialist practitioners such as an epilepsy nurse, CMH team, PWS practitioner
• Access to a positive behaviour support (PBS) specialist
• A wide range of planned in-house and community-based activities
• A convenient location, close to the local college, seafront, town centre and other specialist residential homes
• Good transport links to allow easy access to the wider community and local amenities
• Residents can have their views heard through your voice meetings
