Kalmia & Mallow

Situated in the small market town of Watton, Kalmia and Mallow specialises in supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, as well as people with autism and dementia. We provide a safe and homely environment, where all individuals can make their own choices about the support they receive.

Our approach to support

At Kalmia and Mallow, we pride ourselves in supporting 13 people to develop individual life skills in a friendly environment of two bungalows.

The support offered is dependent on individual need and staff work at each person's own pace, aiming to reach their potential.

Living at Kalmia and Mallow

The people that we support are encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college to access various courses, including cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.

Within the house we continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. This includes daily skills such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning, and tasks are dependent upon an individual's ability. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.

Everyone is encouraged and supported to help in the kitchen to prepare meals and to help with general housekeeping.
