Living at High Cross House

High Cross House is based in an enviable location with good transport links throughout the city, and we are only minutes away from the motorway and train station. There is a variety of local shops nearby and various colleges easily accessible by public transport. Local places of interest include:

  • Cultural Quarter with theatres, cinemas, bowling alley, restaurants, a shopping centre and a museum.
  • Alton Towers
  • Shugborough Hall
  • Trentham Gardens

The wide variety of leisure activities available contribute towards making this a happy home with a welcoming atmosphere.

Facilities and activities 

High Cross House is a large Victorian home with a garden to the rear where we hold barbecues in the summer months.

To create a homely environment, Individuals are encouraged and supported to personalise their bedrooms, and are involved in all aspects of the running of the home and personal domestic tasks including:

  • Shopping
  • Meal preparation
  • Laundry
  • Bedroom cleaning

A wide range of activities

The people living at High Cross House lead a very active life. They take part in many different activities including

Alongside this, everyone is a member of the Special Olympics and they have travelled extensively throughout the UK and abroad when competing.

Individuals at High Cross House also attend work placements and college, social and recreational events of their choosing, and travel independently using local transport.
