Gateholme is set in the lovely countryside surroundings of Carr Gate in Wakefield. All of the local amenities such as shops, supermarkets and banks are just a short distance away.
The service has a total of 48 places to accommodate and support individuals who are living with a learning disability, physical disability and other complex needs. Two of our rooms include en-suite facilities.
Outside we have a large garden with a vegetable plot, which is a popular place to visit in order to socialise and develop new skills.
A wide range of activities
Gateholme has a dedicated activities co-ordinator who supports each individual to design their own personalised activities programme. Individuals are encouraged to develop their daily living skills in a range of different areas such as managing their own money or looking after their own personal care wherever possible.
Activities are varied, ranging from baking and football, through to day trips out in a variety of locations. There is a large garden with a vegetable plot, where many get involved in growing vegetables and also looking after the chickens which have been reared from eggs.
