Carlingford Lodge Care Home

Carlingford Lodge (formerly part of Amore Care) is a modern, purpose-built nursing home, in Newry for up to 75 older people. The home specialises in; older people nursing care, older people residential care, dementia nursing, respite care services, reablement/convalescence services and end of life/palliative care. 

We support people with physical and dementia needs who require assistance and care. The home is designed to meet the needs of older people with comfortable lounge, dining areas and a fabulous arts and activities room.

The attractive enclosed gardens and patio provide residents with a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The homely and comfortable environment Carlingford Lodge provides, enables us to provide person-centred care tailored to the needs of our residents.

Carlingford Lodge is conveniently located on the Upper Dromore Road and is easily accessible from the A2. The home has access to a mini-bus and use this to arrange regular trips for residents including shopping, local visitor attractions, cafes, libraries and more.

• Visiting aroma-therapist providing holistic therapies
• Team of volunteers who support residents and help with activities

• Beautiful patio garden where residents can enjoy sitting outside

Our social and leisure organiser tailors the activities on a daily basis to meet the needs of our residents.

All are encouraged to share their life stories and to create memory boxes, which enhances person-centred care and support. Residents can also go on our regular trips to places such as shops, garden centres and local parks.

Daily activities

Activities are a key part of the daily life at Carlingford Lodge. Our activities co-ordinator assists in developing individual activity schedules tailored to the personal lives and interests of residents in our home. With our staff on hand at all times, each activity is designed to not only mentally stimulate and physically motivate our residents, but to enhance their quality of life and wellbeing. 

The activities co-ordinators work alongside care staff to get to know each and every resident, and take pride in listening, understanding and responding to their needs. All our activities and care staff encourage residents to engage in meaningful and varied activities.
