Apple Mews (formerly part of Craegmoor) has been developed to provide care for up to 30 adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex physical disabilities. It will provide nursing care and a range of programmes to support the development of independence and life skills. Residents will also have access to daily activities including arts, music, education, sensory and outdoor activities.
The homely and comfortable environment has been designed to enable person-centred care and to assist people who cannot live in their own homes to maintain as much independence as possible.
Our approach to care:
Our service is run by an experienced manager, who is supported by a team of trained nurses and support workers. We believe in a multidisciplinary approach to care, which is why we work closely with other professionals including GP’s, medical professionals, SALT, Dieticians, Specialised regional roles, social workers, chiropodists, opticians and community psychiatric nurses.
We hold the philosophy that each person should take the lead in their care programme. We understand that each person has different needs, interests and hobbies, which is why personal input is so important.
“Staff takes me out for coffee and I love going to the hotel for lunch.”
